I går var vi på boklansering, og hørte Nina Granlund Sæther fortelle fra den splitternye boka si - votter. Enda den er helt fersk, er de to første opplagene allerede utsolgt, og det tredje på vei fra trykk. Vi fikk et flott foredrag fra Nina om alle vottene hun har sett i Norge, historien bak, og hvordan hun gikk fram for å finne alle vottene. Inn på museenes lagre, for å se og prøve finne ut hvordan vottene var laget. Vi synes det er så flott å kunne lære mer om historien bak, og hvordan de ulike teknikkene er brukt. Nina kan masse strikkehistorie! Boka er nydelig, og full av inspirerende votteoppskrifter og vottehistorie.

Yesterday, we were welcoming a new book about mittens by Nina Granlund Sæther. The book is still warm from the print, and the first two editions are sold out! Luckily, the third edition is arriving soon. Nina gave us a very interesting lecture about the mittens she is describing in the book, and how she was chasing for new types of mittens all over Norway. Into the cold storerooms of the museums, wearing white gloves and carefully investigating to see how they were made. We think it's so interesting to hear Nina talk about this, she knows a lot about the knitting history of Norway!. The book is beautiful, and full of inspiring mittens patterns and mittens history.
